# Workspace Profile

> A record of your company and the roles you hire for, giving Metaview context to work from.

Your **Workspace Profile** is a record of your company background — your industry, size, geography, and the types of roles you hire for. It gives Metaview context to work from, notably in [Sourcing](/recruiting-platform/ai-sourcing), where a search starts from your company and your roles rather than from scratch.

To view it, click your profile in the bottom-left corner of the navigation menu, select `Settings`, and open the [**Workspace Profile**](https://my.metaview.app/?settings=workspace-profile) tab.

## What's in it

Two kinds of plain text document:

| File               | What it covers                                                                                                                                         |
| ------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **`workspace.md`** | Your company: what you do, how you operate, and how you hire. |
| **`roles/`** | One file per **type of role** you hire for — "Backend Engineer", "Account Executive". These describe categories of roles, not individual job openings. |

## Editing the profile

Open a document, make your changes, and click `Save new version` — you can add a short note explaining why. Your version becomes the active one straight away, and anything you write is kept.

## Version history

Every change is saved as a version, so nothing is lost. Using the version dropdown you can browse previous versions, read any document in them, and see the note explaining each change. The most recent is marked **Active** — the one currently in use.

To bring back an earlier version, open it and click `Revert to this version`. It returns as a new active version, leaving the history intact.

<Note>
  The Workspace Profile is reserved for account administrators — they're the only people who can view or edit it. You can check who your administrators are on the [Team Management](https://my.metaview.app/team-management) page.
